Some bloggers write for clicks. I write for the animals their ads forgot.

No ads. No sponsors. No affiliate links.

Just truth—because someone has to give a damn.

Welcome to the Purrs McBarkin’ Wellness Blog

I created this space for one reason: because truth is hard to find in the pet food world.

Most pet nutrition sites are tangled in ads, sponsorships, and carefully worded brand deals. This one isn’t. I’m a certified canine and feline nutritionist, and I don’t answer to pet food companies, affiliate links, or marketing teams. I answer to the pets who can’t speak for themselves—and the people who love them.

Here, I break down the science behind what’s in the bowl. I question industry narratives. I explain what most labels won’t. Every post is written with one goal in mind: to help you make confident, informed decisions about your dog or cat’s health.

This isn’t a blog about trends. It’s a place for pet parents who care enough to look deeper.

The Pet Parent’s Bill of Rights

As a reader of this blog, you have the right to:

  • Unbiased information
No sponsorships. No paid placements. No hidden agendas.

  • Science-backed guidance
Everything shared here is rooted in current research and real-world evidence—not trends, guesses, or recycled internet myths.

  • Full transparency
I cite sources, explain logic, and welcome your questions. You’ll never be left guessing why something matters.

  • Emotional honesty
If there’s a risk, I’ll say so. I won’t sugarcoat it. Pets deserve the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable.

  • Tools built for clarity
No assumptions, no jargon, no vague recommendations. Just practical insights you can actually use.

  • Your own judgment
I’ll give you the information. You decide what’s best for your pet. My role is to empower, not control.

  • A voice
Your feedback shapes what comes next. If there’s a topic you’re unsure about, bring it up. This blog is here for you.

Let’s Raise the Standard

If you’ve ever felt like you couldn’t trust the label, didn’t get a clear answer from the vet, or were just tired of feeling like pet food is more marketing than nutrition—you’re not alone.

That’s why I built this.
Because love deserves better than labels.
Because truth belongs in the bowl.

Thanks for being here.

“They don’t read labels.
They don’t question ingredients.
They just trust the hand that feeds them.

That trust is silent but it’s everything.
And it’s why I can’t look away.

This blog exists because they can’t ask for better.
But I can.
And I will.”
